I'm from the beautiful tropical island of Guam (it is a territory of the USA though) and am currently a 4th-year medical student at Loma Linda University School of Medicine in California.

I like cycling in all its forms. Mountain biking both cross-country and downhill, road cycling, long rides, short rides, it's all good! I enjoy music, playing both guitar and piano. I like travel. I also like eating. Being able to chow down is one of the very reasons I like bike riding!

I grew up in a family where service to others was a very important part of life. My dad is an internal medicine physician and after his residency, he wanted to serve in an overseas mission field. This led us to the beautiful island of Guam, where my parents continue to serve as missionaries. This is where I learned to love cycling. I spent my teenage years riding my bike all over the island (it's only 30 miles long!).

I was a pre-med student in undergrad because I too wanted to have a career of service. I decided to attend Loma Linda Unviersity because of their strong emphasis in service and missions. As a medical student, I have been able to go to Papua New Guinea to serve in a rural mountain hospital. I have also been able to tutor inner city kids and help build a house for a needy family.

I'm looking forward to the Ride 4 World Health as another opportunity to serve others and do something I love at the same time. And, since I'm graduating from med school in May, it's also a way for me to ride my bike as much as I can before residency starts!
