Ride for World Health

The Ride

In April and May of 2009, a group of medical students, health care professionals, and community representatives will participate in Ride for World Health, a 3,700 mile bicycle ride from San Diego, California, to Washington D.C. to promote education and awareness of global and domestic health concerns as well as raise needed funds for Village Health Works and Esperanca.

Along the way, they will stop at numerous locations all over the US to create a dialogue and lead discussions on issues related to healthcare in the United States and abroad – issues like Poverty and Disease, Healthcare Access, Women’s and Children’s Health, and Infectious Diseases.

Ride for World Health believes that education and empowerment of the public is a critical step toward improvement in global and domestic health.
