Chairman, Self-Deprecating Humor Department
I am from Birmingham, MI, but currently live in Columbus, OH which is a conflict of interest at least several times a year, especially one weekend in November. I went to college at Middlebury College in Middlebury, VT and am currently a 4th-year med student at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.
I was friends with a few of the original riders and when I first learned about what they were doing, I said to myself and to them, "I need to do that." The ride lets me put my education to work on a number of different levels. We get to meet people from all walks of life from all over our own country and discuss with them not only issues facing our own country, but those in other parts of the world. We also can affect change abroad through our education and advocacy programs at home and through our fundraising efforts for our beneficiaries. And let's be honest, I am very much looking forward to riding a bike across the country with a group of fun, entertaining people despite the fact that I am really more of football/ hockey/baseball player and that this whole riding bikes for hours at a time thing is a major reinterpretation of "endurance" for me.
I look forward to riding with, meeting, and talking with many of you on the road ahead. Here we go!
