Born in Pittsburgh, moved to Kansas and my family now resides in Akron. So essentially, I’m a Steelers fan living near Cleveland who has an uncanny fascination with mechanical bulls at social gatherings.

To make a long story very short, I attended Kent State University as a student of advertising. After realizing that authoring witty slogans to sell the newest longer-lasting battery “can’t be all that different” from practicing medicine, I showed up at Ohio State as a medical student and haven’t looked back since.

I’ve come to believe that motivated individuals and communities can affect great change, even global change…albeit statistically rare. Take a look at history, it happens. I find myself inspired by the efforts of R4WH; a national non-profit corporation founded by a few sleep-deprived students who had nothing more than two-hundred dollars of their own money and a big idea. In fact, I’m quite honored to follow in the footsteps of our previous national riders and directors. Now, if I can only figure out how to ride a bike without all that pesky “effort.”

As for R4WH, I think you’ll find a team that is committed to forging something better for all of us, especially our neighbors residing in developing settings. Perhaps R4HW can be a part of that great change; there’s really only one way to find out. Thankfully, we're not on our own. We've had a tremendous amount of support from individual donors, national sponsors such as The Ohio State University Medical Center, roll: bikes, and many others who believe that our mission is worth standing behind. A very sincere thanks to all of you.

If you have any questions about The Ride or the riders, how you can help, or especially Monty Python movies…don’t hesitate to contact me. See you on the road!

Best Wishes,
