R4WH National Team Rider
Ann Arbor, Michigan
Purdue University
Jen joins R4WH from Ann Arbor, Michigan. While she’s new to the sport of cycling, she’s been active with sports since she was six years old. At an early age she found her niche in the water, swimming competitively throughout college at Purdue University. At Purdue, Jen majored in Health Promotion with minors in German and Political Science. It was during those four years that Jen discovered and developed her passion for public health.
Jen’s involvement in nonprofit organizations and volunteer opportunities have fueled her enthusiasm and have encouraged her to continue offering her time and efforts. She has volunteered with a number of organizations including, Mott Children’s hospital at the University of Michigan, the March of Dimes, Colleges Against Cancer, the American Cancer Society, and the Lafayette Crisis Center. Jen is currently completing an internship with the Society for Public Health Education in Washington, D.C. She plans to apply to grad schools to begin working towards a MPH next fall.
In addition to her interests in healthcare and swimming, Jen loves scuba diving, traveling, sunshine, meeting new people, games, trying new things, and simply having a good time. Last summer she backpacked throughout Europe, and now she’s ready to bike across the U.S!
Jen firmly believes that everyone should have access to healthcare, and is excited to raise awareness with a group that shares her enthusiasm. She’s confident her passion and determination will contribute to the success of this ride, and takes pride in knowing that a small group can make a big difference. Let’s make it happen!
