R4WH National Team Rider
Norfolk, VA
Medical Student, Eastern Virginia Medical School
I am originally from New York, ventured to Wisconsin for undergraduate studies, then on to graduate school at the University of Virginia. It was in graduate school that I started cycling... getting back on a bike for the first time in years.
I found that cycling was a great way to travel, meet new people and experience different places. Since that time I have tried to incorporate bicycle touring into my free time, leading me to new adventures and enriching my life with new friends from all over the world.
I first heard about the ride last year from a friend in medical school who knew that I had participated in bicycle tours in the past. I was excited to find out more about the ride and am thrilled to have the opportunity to participate this year. I have always wanted to ride across the country.
This ride combines one of my favorite things - cycling, with the opportunity to educate others about issues in global health and supports a fantastic project that provides global medical care to people worldwide. I can’t think of a better way to spend time and look forward to joining the team on the road next spring.
