I'm from MA originally, I went to Smith College and graduated with a double major in English and Biochemistry in 2006.

I now work for Biogen Idec, a small pharmaceutical that specializes in MS drugs.  I previously worked with filarial parasites that cause LF (lymphatic filariasis, more commonly known as "big leg disease") and went to Tanzania to do mass drug administration monitoring research about 2 years ago.

In my spare time I love to read (mostly fiction), volunteer and bake.  I'm also planning to apply to med school and/ or nursing PhD programs next year.

I heard about the ride through Paul Farmer's website about a year ago, and thought it sounded like a great experience and a great match with my interests.  I'm not a cyclist now, but I will be once this is over!  I'm looking forward to doing the ride and meeting so many exciting people!
