Indiana University

An Indiana boy through and through, I grew up near Indianapolis and then attended Purdue University for undergraduate. Currently, I am a fourth year medical student at Indiana University and am applying for radiology residencies next year. Ultimately, I would like to become an interventional radiologist at a major metropolitan hospital and continue to be involved in medicine on a multitude of levels from patient care to healthcare policy reform.

I always enjoy opportunities to combine my non-medical interests with something medically related. I am not (yet) an experienced cyclist, but definitely fit the R4WH mold of adventure-seeking, athletic medical students dedicated to making a difference. While my chosen specialty of radiology may not seem to naturally lend itself to world and public health issues, medical imaging is a hot topic of reasons behind the inflating cost of healthcare. Plus, the opportunity to educate and inspire people from all over the country while branching out from our traditional physician roles is definitely an attractive proposition to join the R4WH benefit.

Truly though, I can’t wait to jostle around on a hard seat for 80+ miles a day, sleep on random floors, eat peanut-butter sandwiches everyday for 7 weeks, watch my legs morph into those of a kangaroo, and bond with fellow riders who also think this sounds like fun. Saddle-up!

Thanks for supporting our cause!
