Our History
Ride for World Health (R4WH) is a non-profit organization founded in November 2004 by a small group of medical students with a shared interest in global health issues. They were concerned about the disparity of resources affecting universal access to healthcare and wanted to take a proactive role in changing it. The organization completed its first cross country cycling and education program in the spring of 2006.
2011 Ride
In 2011, Ride for World Health donated to MedWish International, AHOPE for Children, and Podemos.
2010 Ride
In 2010, Ride for World Health donated $50,000 to World Bicycle Relief and HEAL Africa.
2009 Ride
In 2009, Ride for World Health was proud to donate $80,000 in support of Village Health Works and Esperanca.
2008 Ride
In 2008, Ride for World Health beneficiary, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) received over $60,000 in funds from the Ride's efforts.
2007 Ride
In 2007, Ride for World Health beneficiaries, the Global Health Access Program (GHAP) and The Pendulum Project collectively received over $60,000 in funds from the Ride's efforts.
2006 Ride
The year 2006 marked the inaugular cross-country ride for Ride for World Health. Our team raised more than $70,000 to support the vital work of Partners in Health, the organization founded by internationally acclaimed physician, Dr. Paul Farmer.
